WELCOME TO UFO 1977

One of my favorite questions to be asked is, "Did I ever tell you about that time I saw a UFO?" When I answered "No" to that very question from a friend, he proceeded to tell me a strange story about a strange craft, with strange beings inside, that visited him in 1977. At the end of his story he recommended, "You should look into it. California. 1977." So I did. And so here I am.

I'm Erik Schlimmer, head honcho of UFO 1977. I'm here to share what I uncover as I write UFO 1977: The Year California Stood Still., to be published by Beechwood Books just in time for the fiftieth anniversary of the events that unfolded. As a professional researcher I leave no stone unturned. I'm the author of thirteen books and hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work, a Bachelor's in Speech Communication, and an Associate's in Wilderness Leadership. 

My interest in UFOs began in 2000 when I attended a presentation by nuclear physicist and longtime UFO researcher Stanton Friedman. After watching Friedman wield eloquence and evidence for two hours straight, I thought, There's gotta be something to this. Now I work with Mutual UFO Network, Organization for Paranormal Understanding and Support, and UAP Medical Coalition. I've become a subject matter expert and have appeared on the UAP-themed podcasts Curious Dimensions, Down the UFO Rabbit Hole, Night Shift, The Amazing People Podcast, The Official MUFON Podcast, UAP Medical Coalition Podcast, Psicoactivo Podcast, UAP Studies Podcast, and UFO Garage. I'm former host of UAP Therapist Podcast, a three-year project that produced 26 episodes.
